JDC - NT http://pittmana.multiply.com/journal/item/14/Quality_of_Life Wed, 18 Jun 2008 22:20:17 -0000 June 3, 2007 - Experience in a gathering       Something good happened to me in our gathering.  First of all, letting the holy Ghost move on me during the song "The holy Ghost and fire and it's keeping me alive", that was good...It feels so wonderful to feel and let the holy Ghost move me.  Then, seeing a sister in the Lord let God move her really touched me.  Afterwards in my prayer,  I heard the Spirit saying "Holy.  Holy. God was looking out for me my whole life; I just didn't understand that. But, I am glad He granted me the chance now to find out about Him despite my ignorance and rebellion as a child. I grew up around holiness and I knew there was something very good about it. I knew it was real, but I just wasn't ready to commit myself to living holy. I didn't hang around long enough to really find out what the holy Ghost would mean in my life, especially as a young teenager. Instead, when I was old enough, I left home and moved on my own, away from holiness and the life I had known. One of the things that most impressed me as a child in those holiness meetings was seeing the people rejoice and give their testimonies with such joy. As I was getting ready for school one morning, He spoke to me and said, "Don’t esteem what I have done for you lightly.  Your testimony is what I have done for YOU.  That IS your testimony." I had a dream this night and here is what I was told. We were in a living room, I don’t know who’s house it was, but there was a couch with two people sitting on it.  One was my sister in the Lord, Donna, and I don’t know the other.  I was lying on a mattress on the floor facing Donna and Carrie, another sister in the Lord, was beside me on the right.  Donna had her eyes closed and she put her hands out in front of her and said, "Honor, Honor and Obey!" Then I said, "Yes, that is it!" Little Carrie started jumping and praising the Lord, which is very natural for her anyway.  Then, the Spirit spoke and added these few words, "Do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly before your God." That was the answer I was looking for. After my dream, I remembered there was a Scripture about this. One night, I wrote down a list of goals that I wanted to remember and accomplish throughout my life in Christ. I wrote down the things that immediately came to mind. Before the Lord, I had good intentions when I started something, but had a very hard time following through with many of the things I started out to do. I did not want to be that way in the Lord and I asked him to help me. My thoughts were to write them down on paper so I could remember them and do them. I am so glad I did! Over and over again during the night, the Lord was speaking the words, "Nothing but the Blood of Jesus". It was so strong and it was repeated over and over again. I awoke at 6:00am with those words rolling through my mind. So, I looked up some Scriptures. The book is about Constantine. I came to several places where over and over again the cross was mentioned. Either as a sign or some history where Constantine’s mother claimed to have a vision and found a piece of wood with the actual nails from the cross of Jesus, where the cross was made a standard part of worship, and many other discussions about the cross. As I was sitting there, I heard a voice say "The cross. The cross. They hide behind the cross." I then leaned back in my chair and I saw a vision of a house. There was a front door with an old-timey keyhole on it. I saw the door unlock and open. When the door opened, I walked in and there were seven doors all closed. On each one of the doors there was a title written on them. Paul mentions the difference between the old and new natures ("old man" and "new man") in 4:17-24, and then what follows is a detailed breakdown of the "righteousness and true holiness" that Paul mentions in verse 24. One should not read the commandments that follow as commandments. They really are not. They are merely descriptions of what you already are, descriptions of the nature that you have now within you by the Spirit. Peter said that, in Christ, we become "partakers of the divine nature". Paul describes that nature in the last half of Ephesians. These are God's moral laws written in our hearts by the Spirit. Another way to say it: these are a summary of God’s will, which is injected into our hearts by the Spirit.
